Mission Statement
The Mission of PHERN
is to research and analyze the federal, state, and private systems whose purpose is to protect, maintain, and monitor the
health of Southern West Virginia people.
The focus of PHERN
is the prevention of child developmental diseases and adult degenerative diseases through public health risk recognition,
modification, and prevention of such disease as it relates to health hazards flowing from modern developmental changes in
West Virginia culture.
The audience PHERN
serves includes the people of Southern West Virginia, the W.V. Department of Health and Human Resources, the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, the WV Division of Environmental Protection, the representatives
of the people of West Virginia, and any concerned person or organization.
